Italy

A taste of pizza and culture

Visitors to Italy can take a walk around the large number of sights and then enjoy the sun, a delicious pizza and a refreshing glass of wine.

Italy has a wide variety of historic buildings, such as amphitheatres, colosseums, basilicas, monasteries and ruins all over the country, from north to south. The north of Italy is the most densely populated region and contains the important tourist cities of Milan, Venice and Turin. Tourist centres have been built around Lake Como and Lake Garda, in particular.

Central Italy has two important regions: Tuscany and Umbria. Tuscany, a hilly region that is well known for its cypress trees, is considered to be the most beautiful region in Italy. Florence and Pisa are certainly worth a visit. Walkers can enjoy themselves in the varied Umbrian countryside. You can walk between thriving fields of wheat, vineyards and magnificent abbeys. In the south of Italy, you will be sucked into the social whirl. You should certainly visit the chaotic city of Naples.
